I Can't Believe I Forgot

I got a car!

I wasn't going to buy one, but my aunty's neighbour was selling hers, it's 27 years old and has only 60k on the clock. I had to. I've known her since I was a child and really, she charged me so little that it was a gift she wanted to give. I can't even tell you how much easier it's made things. I just read through a couple of other entries and it bought back memories of trying to push the stroller in the searing heat, along uneven, bumpy paths and tracks, and lugging groceries on the bus. No more.

Then sadly some arsehole smashed in the window and the replacement quote was $749. I've ordered the glass second hand, it's being freighted from Melbourne (the joys of a car no longer in production mean it's rare now), and I will try to replace it myself and save $600. That's life.

It turns out I wrote this post then forgot to come back, finish, and publish it to the blog 😂 which shouldn't surprise anyone.

I kept the car a few months and then the sale of the overseas property finally, finally neared. That and my rent got increased. To half my income. Which absolutely isn't sustainable. But what are you supposed to do when you can't afford rent, a loan is impossible and the more you have isn't enough to buy anything?
