Surveys

The Master Survey List (updated January 2023)

The following is a list of survey sites that I'm a member of.

I have written this list without regard to potential referral earnings - this means that although many of these links are my referral links, they are ranked according to what a person can earn on their own. I feel this is the fairest way to recommend a site, because not everyone can gain referrals!

I'm a fickle creature and I get lazy, and sometimes I'm not in the mood for surveys. Other times I spend hours on them. If you're dedicated you can earn a lot more than I do and some sites might work better for you than for me.

So let's take a look where we stand as of 2023.

Top Bang for Buck
I keep these ones in a folder that I check most often.

1. YouGov
Many of YouGov's surveys are polls on behalf of government, public interest surveys, or by large corporations. While it doesn't send too many surveys, I personally find that this is the survey site that screens me out the least. This makes it the best survey site for using my time. I have been paid by this site, although it will take a long time to reach cashout for most people. Payment is by bank transfer.

2. Y-Live (formerly PopulusLive)
This one didn't have a good start as their support is not stellar, and it has waiting lists sometimes, but if you can get in it's well worth it. It took a while for me to see the surveys start to come in. When they do, get on them quickly. Value is very good (typically £1-4 per survey and not too long). Payment is by bank transfer.

3. OnePoll - PROMOTED TO THE TOP  LIST. I like this one a lot as it has lots of surveys, and they are quick and easy. I have been paid by this (£25 payout, by PayPal or bank deposit).

Sends good value surveys and often sends you "profile update" quick questionnaires which also add to your earnings. Install the browser extension to get notifications of the profile questions, as you are paid a few cents to do it each time. Not incredibly active, but they rarely screen you out - making them a great use of your time. Payment is by PayPal and starts at around £12.

Quick & Easy to Reach Payout

Payment is via PayPal or Amazon gift card. You can reach payout quickly (it's only £4.00) and I have been paid many times. This mob doesn't pay amazingly, and you might screen out half the time, but nabs top marks for a great website and being so easy to reach payout.

The only reason I haven't ranked this as number 1 is that there's quite a "mad rush" to be the first to grab an available survey and you'll sometimes find it's already full. Very quick payout (you can probably reach it on your first or second day) and as it's a points system it's just under £4.00, via PayPal. I've cashed out many times here. This has a great tiers programme too, the more surveys you do the bigger your bonus for each one.

3. PureProfile
I was a member of this back in Australia 17 years ago! It's well-paid, easy to reach payout and has a useful website. You'll often get 5p for screening out of a survey (hey, we take what we can get these days right?). £10.00 minimum for payout by bank account or choose a voucher like Tesco, Amazon etc.

The "Side Hobby" Study Sites, to do while you're doing other things at a PC anyway:
These work best by refreshing often, while you're working on other things. I do it by having a small window open beside my main browser, and using a browser refresh plugin. These are often research questionnaires for students completing their degree studies - so are far more interesting than survey sites.

1. Prolific Academic used to be my overall number one earner. Fewer studies these days but still very well paid for your time, at least £8 an hour, and has an easy-to-use website. I have been paid more than fifty times (payout is by PayPal).

2. Testable Minds - This one is a definite yes and there's no minimum payout. I've received about $300 US in total and the studies are usually about 20-30min long and paying around $4. Pays in US$ and via PayPal or Revolut. I ended up joining Revolut to get my payment free from these guys and it was well worth it.

The "Almost Passive" List
All of these are survey sites but also have "offer" pages which are by far the best payout of anything on this page, for example, install and play a game for £20 or sign up to a website for £5. Make sure that you read the terms carefully for each offer, read about them on Reddit to see if others liked the offer, and know for sure whether you need to make a spend to earn the cashback.

Swagbucks
The free part: Just install the Swagbucks browser extension and paste the SB code in each day when it alerts you - usually between 5 & 8pm ish UK time. It's only a few points, but it takes about five seconds. Follow them on Facebook and do the "Swago" board each month (20p-50p). They have a lot of different redemption offers, including Amazon vouchers and PayPal, starting from about £5.

Qmee
The free part: Qmee has a browser extension, which will sometimes show up paid links to your search results, for example, if you're looking for shoes it might add in a link to a shoe shop with "5p" written underneath. There's no obligation to shop on the link you clicked, so if you don't like it, just go back to your search result. Payout by PayPal with no minimum.

Inbox Pounds - sends a PaidEmail every day, which is one penny for the click, which is worth your time if you're patient. Payout is at £20 by PayPal, Amazon, Tesco, Mastercard etc.

The OK List:

Opinion Outpost
Easy to navigate the site and it sends a good number of surveys. You can cashout with PayPal or choose a voucher. I've been paid by this site several times - the threshold is quite low (£2.50) so you won't have to wait long to reach it.

Simple to use site with a good number of surveys and decent rewards and redemptions (Asda, Tesco, Amazon etc). I have been paid by this site.

Panelbase.net
Despite me mostly ignoring it, I'm halfway to payout (£10). Send a lot of surveys and they always tell you the cash value. Seems to be worthwhile if you put the time in. Payment by BACS or voucher.

This one is new to me and seems to have a decent setup with surveys available most days. Surveys use a points system and payout is by PayPal at just under £9.00.

Nectar Points:

e-Rewards
Good payment amounts and lots of surveys. Surveys come fairly regularly and I've reached payout out with this site several times.

Almost a carbon copy of e-Rewards except points go automatically into your Nectar account without needing to reach threshold.

If you're keen:

Very few surveys, decent rewards, you'll need to be patient to reach threshold though.

Ipsos is a well-respected researcher so, as expected, these are good quality surveys with decent payout and not screening out too often. Payout £10 by Tesco/iTunes/Amazon/Prepaid Mastercard.

Only for the desperately keen:

Surveyeah
Payment is via PayPal or gift vouchers once you reach £10. Plenty of surveys offered but you are screened out VERY often.

PrizeRebel - very similar to InboxPounds, Swagbucks etc. LOTS of surveys but often screened out.

Cint Panel (Also called Voice of the Customer) - Those who are already members of a few panels might have noticed that a lot of surveys actually come from Cint. This is the panel to join directly. Rewards are via PayPal, Amazon or GCodes and start at £8.00. I wanted to love them, but I seem to get constant screenout, so it mostly wastes my time.

MarketAgent.com
I seem to have been a member of this for a while, but they don't seem to send many emails. When I actually logged in, there were plenty of surveys available. Payment is by PayPal and around the £8.50 mark, but you are screened out VERY often.

LifePoints - Since my last update I rarely get any surveys at all. It will take me decades to cash out at this rate.

I check it periodically but still have a balance of zero. I just always seem to screen out. But at least they have surveys, so maybe they're looking for your age instead of mine.

Oh My Dosh!
This site pays you for completing offers. Some require a purchase and some are free. It also has a competitions section. There's a £1 welcome bonus when you join and payout is at £10, by either bank transfer or PayPal.

Unrated or Not Recommended:

American Consumer Opinion - not fabulous. They paid me once, back in the dark ages. Since then, I haven't reached payout in years. I just logged in, updated my info, and then tried to do a survey - I screened out of seven surveys in a row (basically, I got paid nothing after spending all that time). I wouldn't bother here.

Toluna - obscenely high payout threshold, incredibly poor payment for surveys. Also, your points expire if you don't use them fast enough. Avoid like the plague.

New Vista Live - far too infrequent surveys, screens out after you've already answered 20-30 questions, very high payment threshold and only pays by cheque. Give this one a miss and do not bother, it will take years to cash out.

iPoll - I got sick of logging in to see zero surveys and a balance of zero, so I've deleted this.

Opinion Inn - Honestly, do not bother. Their surveys are for people who work in the C-suite (CEO, etc) and people who are senior decision-makers in their organisation's IT department. Honey, none of those people are doing surveys for cash.

Mingle - I gave these clowns TWO chances, two years apart, and they mucked it up in the same way both times - by having a terrible website and terrible customer service. The rewards are good but you'll never get them because something in your account will break, and they'll never fix it.

TimeBucks - what an absolute pile of garbage this site is. If you're looking for the worst-paid survey site in the world, you found it! Just to add insult to injury, they banned me from adding to my three cents (!) by accusing me of being dishonest and not being where I say I am, and then ignoring my response, which included my passport as proof of who I am. Erm... yeah this site is a dumpster fire.
